Love can make you stronger, if you let it.
Charlotte Saunders has a full life—a rewarding career as a nurse, meaningful volunteer work at a dog shelter, and family, friends and pets she adores. But no matter how hard she tries, she can’t forget the horrible event that’s haunted her for ten years.
A survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Damon Greyson now helps others who have suffered trauma. His experience and intuition alert him to trouble in Charlotte’s past, and he wants to help her, if only she’d let him.
As they work together to help veterans suffering from PTSD and neglected dogs needing loving homes, their feelings for each other deepen. But when the trauma from Charlotte’s past roars back to life, both are forced to confront their painful histories—or die trying.

This is a great romance and it is a great romantic suspense. This book is an emotional tribute to the power of the human spirit. The ability of the two lost souls to overcome their trauma is inspiring. A great book that means much more than one would think.

Just when we thought this author couldn’t get any better, she comes back with a gem like Strong Enough. Richards’ ability to weave issues of long-term effects of PTSD, acquaintance rape, child sexual abuse, and alcoholism into a story that features lasting family ties, enduring friendship and boundless love is enviable. This one’s a beauty—and we are better for it.
Based on a scale of 1-5, Strong Enough deserves a 7.

The story is beautiful, emotional, sad at times, with some suspense/action that I didn't expect. I love the sense of community in Masonville, and the wonderful bond that Charlotte has with her family, and that Damon has with his siblings. This was an amazing book; so glad that I had the opportunity to read it.

The flow and pacing of the story was just right and the introduction of events and circumstances was done seamlessly and I was pulled into an emotional journey reading what both Damon and Charlotte went through. Their connection and feelings for each other was palatable. Loved the conclusion… Beautifully well-written emotional story.

I love how this shows that victims don't have to continue to be victims. That the more they stand up for themselves and speak out about what happened to them the less power the criminal had over them. Yes, sometimes it takes years to get to that point, but with the right support and not hiding it from everyone anymore you can move on with your life and be truly happy again.

This is a very emotional story. The characters are realistic and it was intriguing to watch Damon and Charlotte work through their issues into a relationship. Threats come from their pasts and I appreciated the support they got from their family…The epilogue answered my lingering questions at the end of the last chapter so I was left satisfied.

Strong Enough was a wonderful read with well crafted characters. I was pulled into the challenge of saving veterans and rescue dogs. Jana Richards does a great job of weaving the lives of Damon Greyson and Charlotte Saunders together and how they overcome the obstacles from their pasts. I couldn't put it down until I turned the last page.

He slowly lowered his head, his breath mingling with hers. But he held back, as if waiting for her permission.
Charlotte’s lips were mere inches from his. Her senses filled with him, with his scent, with the look in his eyes, and the sound of his ragged breathing. She trembled, but she wasn’t sure if it was with excitement or fear. Perhaps it was both.
All she knew was right now she wanted to kiss Damon Greyson more than she’d wanted her next breath. She stretched up on her tiptoes and touched her lips to his.
Damon’s arms came around her and crushed her against his broad chest. Somehow her arms wound themselves around his neck and hung on tight. Every part of his body seemed to fit perfectly with hers, as if they were puzzle pieces made only for each other.
And his mouth. Oh, his clever, wonderful mouth. His kiss was demanding, and yet so utterly tender it made her want to weep. It had been a long time since she’d been kissed like this.
No, she corrected. I’ve never been kissed like this.
